Sacred Teahouse
The owners of our Vintage Remodel project consider themselves stewards of the estate parkland the house is situated upon—they asked AOME to design a sacred space in which they could contemplate spiritual matters and enjoy the setting. Although our clients hail from another part of Asia, they felt a Japanese style teahouse would be the ideal space to capture their sacred sense of the place. Having worked with Len Cullum from Shokunin Do on a previous project (see our book, “Transformation — Kura-To Entry Door,” for the full story) we knew he could execute the sacred teahouse our clients imagined.
Craftsmanship like this takes time to create and execute. Our gallery images illustrate a few of the many steps in design and construction, and the astounding methods used to create the Sacred Teahouse.
